Sub Usage Limit: Super Champs

Question:

Why doesn't the sub usage limit apply for the Superchamp flight? The two lowest teams in superchamp flight are required to move down a flight based on their final score but there is no penalty for using too many subs in the final scores for this flight. Seems like there should be a sub usage penalty like in all other flights since using subs could affect the scores of both teams involved in a particular match.

Answer:

Two main reasons the sub limit rules do not apply to Super Champs. The main reason is that Super Champ teams are allowed to carry between 6 and 8 roster players. As a result, some teams have extra roster players listed and thus use less "subs". Teams that only list 6 roster players obviously are more likely to use subs then those with 8 players listed. Additionally, since Super Champs is our highest flight, by definition you can't have "ringer" subs or gain any advantage by bringing subs in to play for roster players. For these reasons, we do not limit subs in this flight and the sub penalties do not apply.
